We design and develop our tour programs based on the needs of children and families first and foremost. Our tours include cities that families often request, sites that are culturally focused, and activities that are child and family oriented. There are trips to well known sites such as the Great Wall in Beijing, the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an, the giant pandas in Sichuan, the Three Gorges on the Yangtze River, the picturesque countryside of Guilin, and the vibrant modern metropolis of Shanghai. There are also visits to rural villages, Chinese homes, kindergartens or schools, and places where local children frequent. Some of our tours include art classes and craft activities at local children’s palaces.

For families who are ready for an orphanage reunion, there are trips to the child’s home province with a pre-arranged visit to the orphanage where you may be able to meet with your child’s caregiver or foster family and interact with the children there. You may even be able to visit the place where your child was found.

We recognize the various needs and interests that different families may have. Therefore, in addition to group tours with established itineraries, we offer independent tours to cities of your choice, add-on excursions before or after a pre-arranged group tour, and custom tours catering to special interests of groups as well as individuals.

China Cultural Trip - 2009

Organized by the Chinese Language Education Foundation (under the State Department of China) and the Prince of Peace Foundation in Hayward, CA

There are many tour groups to China, but this is the only one sponsored by the Chinese government! Activities include visits to many areas not open to tourists, and participation is by invitation only.

The date is June 19-29, 2009. We plan to visit Beijing, Tianjin, the May 12th earthquake zone in Sichuan, and Yunnan, if possible. Since some of the places we intend to visit are not open to the public, so we can only accommodate 150 people on this trip. There is a 10-year-old age requirement for the children to attend, just as last time. We are very pleased to share that the China Language Educational Foundation will be heavily subsidizing the cost of this trip, and it will only cost $700 per adult / $400 per child (age 10-17) for travel within China. For more detailed information, please see the brochure.

If you are ready to make a reservation, please email to Maisie at 2009POPChinaCulturalTrip@gmail.com. You can also download the trip application here. For more information about POP's Foundation, please visit www.popsfoundation.org.
